India Untitled.

I know India mothers

In its pulsating belly

(The epicentre of life)

A darkness that expands each day

And yet, each time

I can only feel

The rain on my skin

An ambled road carved into a field

Taking me home to sweet grains

And soft dal and warm hearth

The light that I capture in my eyes

Perhaps makes me truly blind

From the darkness that I just won’t let

Seep into my lashes.

Your warmth

What an incredible warmth of a friend
Your head is on my shoulder
There’s a weight on my heart
I curve my head towards yours
And a crevice is formed

What an incredible warmth of a friend
Radiating from your scalp
From the point where my elbow touches your arm
From where your cheek lays upon my shoulder

What an incredible warmth of a friend
What are you thinking? I want to ask
As you look at the space
What goes on inside that head of yours?

What an incredible warmth of a friend
When you smile in my direction
It’s a secret between just the two of us
And I like to think we’re connected
